The world's first fully electronic taximeter, invented by ATA in 1977. Discontinued, but wholly supported by us — re-programmable to the current Irish national tariff. If it's running, we'll keep it compliant and on the road.
The GLEIKE is not just a taximeter. It's a piece of history — and it's still earning its living in Irish taxis every single day.
ATA Electronics invented the GLEIKE in 1977 — the world's first fully electronic taximeter. At a time when taxi meters were still mechanical devices wound by clockwork springs and cable drives, ATA's engineers built something entirely new: a meter calculated and displayed by electronics, with no moving parts. It changed the industry completely.
That was nearly fifty years ago. The GLEIKE is still here. And here in Ireland, Pulsar Europe still fully supports it.
If you have a GLEIKE fitted in your cab and it's working well, there is absolutely no reason to pull it out and replace it. We can re-programme it to the current Irish national tariff and re-calibrate it — just the same as any newer meter. A properly programmed and verified GLEIKE is as compliant as any unit on the market.
Under Irish law, every time a new fare is programmed into a taximeter, it must be verified by the Legal Metrology Service. We re-programme and calibrate for GLEIKE owners right here in Ireland; the verification itself is carried out by Applus.
It mounts on your dashboard fascia in the traditional layout that generations of Irish taxi drivers have grown up with. It's robust, utterly dependable, and built to ATA's extraordinary manufacturing standards.
Compatible with the ATA Power Print thermal receipt printer — so you can continue offering printed receipts as required under Irish taxi regulations.
Old it may be. Obsolete it is not.
